mrs. fagan’s story lab

(most) thursdays & fridays @ 10:30

Join Mrs. Fagan weekly for her amazing story labs! As a former Newtown Kindergarten teacher and math/science specialist, she would love to entertain your children in the wonders of science. Story Lab is 15-25 minutes long and includes reading a story and doing a coordinating science craft. Appropriate for ages 2-5.

Please note: Story Lab does not run in the summertime…even Mrs. Fagan deserves a summer break!

We all hate early dismissals…except for kids.

When Newtown schools dismiss early, the fun keeps going at EverWonder! Children spend the afternoon with friends enjoying hands-on activities, games, and plenty of time to explore and play throughout the museum, while parents finish the workday.

🚌 Getting here is easy: Children can ride their regular school bus directly from their Newtown elementary school to EverWonder. Parents simply notify the school on the days their child will be riding the bus to the museum.

Each Early Dismissal afternoon may include a group STEM challenge, creative project, games, and museum exploration. Activities vary by date, but the goal is always the same: a fun, engaging afternoon with friends at EverWonder!

Single Day: $40 per child
Register for any of our 11 program dates. EverWonder members save 10% on individual-day tickets.

All 11 Dates: $400 for one child
Buy 10 days, get 1 FREE! Includes a guaranteed spot on every Early Dismissal program date.

All 11 Dates: $700 for two children
Save $180! Includes guaranteed spots for both children on all 11 Early Dismissal program dates.

All 11 Dates: $1,000 for three children
Save $320! Includes guaranteed spots for all three children on all 11 Early Dismissal program dates.

Annual package pricing cannot be combined with membership or other discounts.

A few important details:

Newtown Public Schools has 13 scheduled elementary early dismissals during the 2026–2027 school year. EverWonder offers this program on 11 select dates. We do not offer the program on the early dismissal before December break or on the last day of school.

Space is limited, and popular dates often sell out. Annual package families have guaranteed spots on all 11 program dates.

Pickup is by 5:00 PM promptly.

Choose individual dates, plan ahead for a few, or lock in the whole year!

Come visit with Ranger Nate from the Beardsley Zoo as he brings animal furs, skeletons, and other wild things to the museum. He is one of our favorite animal experts and would love to answer your questions. (no live animals)

Go on a date or stay home and relax! We’ve got the kids!

$36/child for members
$40/child for non-members

Includes open museum, craft/science demos, and pizza!

*Private PNOs available. All registrations for Parents’ Night Out must be received no later than 24 hours before the event. Late registrations made online are subject to cancellation. Please call the museum at 203-364-4009 to see if space is available after the deadline.
